Jane Rogers

Solicitor - Director

Specialisms: advising on all issues and concerns following medical and surgical treatment; advising on serious injuries caused by someone else at fault.

Jane trained as a Solicitor in London's West End, qualifying in 1992. She was a Partner at a London firm before returning home to South Wales in 2001.  Jane was a Partner at another firm in South Wales before joining JMD Law in July 2017.

Jane has a particular interest in acting for parents of children injured at birth.

  • Are you concerned that your baby's milestones are not being met?
  • Were you told that by now your baby would, for example, respond to sounds; laugh and smile; roll over; sit unsupported, but your baby is not able to do these things?
  • Was the birth of your baby traumatic or do you have any concerns about the treatment you received before, during or after birth?
  • Did any of the doctors or midwives present appear worried or has the Health Visitor since talked to you about any problems or concerns they have?

If you have these types of concerns about your baby and something happened during the birth which makes you think the medical professionals involved may be to blame, telephone us today and speak to Jane Rogers.  She will advise whether or not you have a potential claim for compensation.  Jane often recovers compensation of millions of pounds for the injured child to ensure they are safe to enjoy the best possible quality of life with appropriate care and assistance for the rest of their life.

If you have never before needed to seek legal advice, it can be daunting to choose the right Lawyer.  Jane is ranked in the Legal 500 (the Client's guide to the best Firms and Lawyers in the UK) and is one of only a dozen Lawyers in the whole of Wales to be individually named.  She is praised as "an accomplished litigator" advising on a range of cases and who "really looks after Clients whose lives have been turned upside down by their injuries".

Jane is also a longstanding accredited member of the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel.  Lawyers accredited by the Law Society have a quality mark to reassure the public that the Lawyer in question meets the highest standards of technical expertise and Client service.  Accreditation is subject to rigorous and independent testing.

Welsh Health Boards have the facility to look at complaints against them under the NHS Putting Things Right Scheme. If they find that the care they provided was unacceptable they can make an offer of compensation and advise the complainant to seek legal advice on the offer. Jane is on the Welsh Health Boards list of solicitors qualified to advise. This advice is free of charge to the complainant. Jane can advise on offers made by any of the Welsh Health Boards, not just those in the Cardif area.

Jane offers a truly bespoke service to her Clients, taking an empathetic approach to their needs and utilising her experience and tactical acumen to help them achieve the best outcome.

Jane also specialises in Cardiac cases including failure to treat a heart attack and representing those whose outcome from surgery is not as it should have been.  Jane worked in the Cardiology Department of a large teaching hospital before qualifying as a Solicitor and brings her personal knowledge and experience to this particular area.

Outside of work Jane enjoys socialising, reading, walking, travelling and avoiding cooking if at all possible!

"Purposeful and thorough and excellent at complex cases [Chambers Directory]"
